Greetings

Dear Readers,

Namaste and Shalom. It gives me immense pleasure to introduce the 10th edition of the India-Israel Business Guide. This publication is a testament to our economic ties and the immense potential between India and Israel.

As in the previous years, I am confident that this publication will serve as a comprehensive guide for startups, companies, entrepreneurs and business community, offering them valuable insights as also practical information in exploring opportunities between our two dynamic nations.

India and Israel have emerged as natural partners in the global economy, leveraging their unique strengths to create synergies across diverse sectors. Over the years, India and Israel have forged a robust and reliable partnership built on shared values.  While India stands as a hub for manufacturing, technology, talent and services, Israel’s expertise in high-tech industries such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, water management and  agriculture complements India’s growth trajectory. As India marches towards becoming the third largest economy in the world by the end of this decade, and to achieve Prime Minister Mr. Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed Nation) by 2047, Israel will find abundant opportunities to collaborate and contribute in our journey.

We began this year with the successful hosting of the India-Israel Business Forum and the CEOs Forum in Delhi. These platforms have brought together industry leaders, policymakers and innovators from both nations to explore new avenues for trade diversification, technology transfer and investment.

I encourage all readers to use this guide to navigate our thriving business ecosystems, and also as a roadmap for exploring the myriad opportunities that exist between our nations. My team at the Embassy would be glad to facilitate all efforts on this front.

Lastly, I wish to appreciate to all contributors who have made this publication possible. Let us continue to work together, with determination and innovative spirit, to elevate the India-Israel strategic partnership to greater heights.

With best regards,

JP Singh

Ambassador of India to Israel

Dear Readers,

2025 will be an Israel-India year. And why is that? Because Israel is in the final phase of a war that caused Israelis to reinvent themselves in order to prevail. We had to prevail not only against the aggressors who brutally attacked us, but also in the face of all other aspects of life, which needed to be taken care of despite the harsh circumstances.

That’s why we are energized and ready to overcome any challenge in our way to rehabilitation and success.

Israelis have also rediscovered India. Not only it is a vibrant economy and a rising global power. India has also proved itself as a friend in time of need. Last year ended with high profile visits of Israeli economic ministers to India and begins with more of them coming, together with huge business delegations, presidents of Universities and more.

I am hopeful that this edition of the Israel-India Business Guide will serve as a valuable resource for companies, startups, entrepreneurs, and the broader business circle in both countries.

Israel and India are natural partners. Both share an appetite for technological innovation. This is evident from the fact that Indian and Israeli entrepreneurs and startups are collaborating and developing cutting-edge technologies together, adapting them to the requirements of the Indian and Israeli markets.

We need more such connections, and bigger in size in green energy, agritech, water, infrastructure, medical devices, smart cities, space, electronics, communication, cyber and more.

The number of people traveling for business purposes from India to Israel or the other way around is constantly increasing.

Recently, Israel’s biggest business delegation ever led by Israeli Economy and Industry Minister Mr. Nir Barkat arrived in India to seek future partnerships between businesses from both nations.

I would like to thank all the readers for their support, and my best wishes to you all in fulfilling your goals. Hope that this edition contributes to yet another boost to business relations between Israel and India.

Ambassador of Israel to India

Dear Friends,

This year, Israel and India are celebrating growing diplomatic, trade and cultural partnership.

There have been many visits to India by Israeli ministers and officials.  Since 2021, when I took charge as the Consul General of Israel in Mumbai, the interaction has been a linear growth. In the past I had visited India many times in various professional capacities and every time I visited India, I witnessed that relations with Israel were strengthening further. The War in Gaza brought challenges but also great opportunities. Indian markets have been revealed to Israeli industry. It was clear that in the new geopolitics wave, cooperation between our beloved countries will be for the benefit of all.

This issue of the Israel-India Business Guide is coming out at an opportune time. It is full of information and tips. I am confident that business people from Israel and India will find it useful.

We look forward to welcoming a large number of Indian students, researchers, businesspersons and tourists this year. I congratulate the publishers of Israel-India Business Guide for their noteworthy initiative.

Yours,

Kobbi Shoshani,

Consul General of Israel to Mid-West India, Mumbai

Consulate General of Israel, Mumbai

Dear Readers,

The relationship between India and Israel is rooted in shared values of democracy, innovation, and resilience. In recent times, these bonds have been strengthened further, particularly in the face of challenges such as terrorism and violent extremism. Both countries stand united in the fight against radical threats, recognizing their devastating impact on societies across the globe. This mutual commitment to security has brought India and Israel even closer, fostering a deeper partnership in various sectors, including technology, defense, and innovation.

Israeli companies have a growing presence in India, exemplified by the Bengaluru Tech Summit, where Israeli firms showcased their cutting-edge solutions in fields such as AI, automotive, and sustainable technologies. This reflects India’s ambition to be a global innovation hub. The collaborative spirit between our nations is evident, driving technological progress for the benefit of both societies.

Meetings with key leaders, including Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shiva

Kumar, have further reinforced the partnership, focusing on high-tech industries, water management, and agriculture. Israeli participation in the Invest Karnataka enabled innovators to share insights on investment, fostering startups, and building a sustainable future. Additionally, the joint India-Israel initiative at IIT-Madras, establishing a water technology center, will significantly contribute to India’s sustainable water supply goals.

India and Israel’s partnership is about more than business – it’s a shared commitment to peace, security, and progress. As both nations face global challenges, the bond between our countries continues to grow, creating exciting opportunities for Israeli companies to thrive in India and vice versa.

Sincerely yours,

Orli Weitzman

Dear Readers,

India and Israel are strengthening their strategic partnership as both countries share a dynamic and evolving relationship that spans multiple sectors, including defense, trade, technology, and diplomacy.

Trade between India and Israel has grown significantly since the 1990s. What initially started with a focus on diamonds and agricultural products has now expanded to include pharmaceuticals, IT, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing. Bilateral trade now exceeds $5 billion annually. We are looking forward to enhancing these numbers even further with substantial business delegations to and from India, like the recent delegation of 100 companies, led by Minister of Economy and Industry Mr. Barkat to India that the Israel Export Institute organized.

Israel’s reputation as the “Startup Nation” aligns well with India’s rapidly growing technology and innovation sectors. Israeli expertise in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and medical technology is highly valued by India, which is looking to boost its digital economy. Joint research and development initiatives in fields like space technology, clean energy, and precision agriculture, defense and water technology are also fostering deeper collaboration.

One of the strategic projects currently being promoted is the IMEC (India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor) project that aims at creating an economic corridor that will connect India with the Middle East and Europe through marine and land transportation infrastructure and will create new business opportunities.

The Israel Export Institute, together with the Foreign Trade Administration at the Ministry of Economy and Industry, work tirelessly to create meaningful business connections and to promote Israeli companies in the international arena. We are confident that the content and information presented in this edition will help generate new ideas and establish new connections.

We wish us all a productive and successful edition that will mark the path for meaningful cooperation.

Best regards,

Avi Balashnikov

Chairman

Israel Export Institute

Dear readers,

I am pleased to take part in the Israel-India Business Guide 2025.

We recently returned from a visit of the economic-business delegation to India, which included about 100 founders and CEOs of leading Israeli companies in the economy, who want to do business with India. The Third meeting of the Israel-India CEO Forum, was convened in Delhi, with the goal of expanding the scope of trade between the two countries.

We are grateful for the warm welcome we received from the Indian people, especially during this difficult time, and believe that we will return to India many more times with Israeli business delegations.

Now is the time to bring the economic relations between the two countries back to the forefront and see how it is possible to restore the trade volume to the extent we already knew before, and beyond.

We see India as a strategic partner and a true friend of Israel and strongly believe in mutual benefit of the economic relationship between the two countries.

As the president of the Manufacturers Association of Israel and The Israeli business sector organizations, I wish you all an interesting reading, and invite you to contact us and promote business with the Israeli Industry.

Yours Truly,

Dr. Ron Tomer

Dear friends,

Israel and India, two sister nations born from struggles for independence from the British Empire, celebrate 33 years of diplomatic relations this year. But our partnership extends far beyond diplomacy. This guide highlights the deep and diverse collaboration between the two nations, spanning multiple industries.

From traditional sectors like defense, water, and agriculture to emerging fields such as mobility, electric vehicles, new energy solutions, sustainability, and climate tech – the ties between Israel and India continue to evolve. In the post-COVID era, cooperation in life sciences, healthcare, and medical innovations has grown stronger than ever, reflecting a shared commitment to progress and innovation.

Bilateral trade between Israel and India has yet to reach its full potential, and businesses on both sides still face significant challenges. The upcoming Free Trade Agreement may help remove some obstacles, but true progress goes beyond policy. Israelis and Indians must invest time in understanding each other, bridging cultural differences, embracing shared values, and fostering synergies. Stronger connections and deeper mutual knowledge will pave the way for even greater collaboration and success.

Thanks, Dhanyavad & Toda.

Adv. Anat Bernstein-Reich, President, Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce and Chairperson, Israel-India Chamber of Commerce
