NVIDIA and Synopsys expand strategic collaboration – with direct impact on their Israeli R&D Centers
NVIDIA and Synopsys have announced an expansion of their strategic partnership aimed at developing a new generation of AI-driven and accelerated computing capabilities for engineering and simulation. As part of the collaboration, NVIDIA has invested 2 billion dollars in Synopsys stock. Although both companies are American, each operates significant R&D centers in Israel, meaning the announcement is likely to influence hundreds of local engineers working in chip design, verification tools, physical simulations and related fields.

The renewed agreement combines accelerated computing, AI models and advanced simulation technologies to shorten development cycles, improve accuracy and enhance engineering efficiency. According to both companies, the goal is to help engineering teams address the growing complexity of modern systems while reducing time-to-market and improving design outcomes.
While the partnership is not exclusive, it is expected to affect Israel’s broader semiconductor ecosystem and the workflows of local R&D teams. Faster adoption of GPU-accelerated design and simulation tools may reshape established methodologies in EDA, verification and system-level engineering, enabling more efficient and scalable development processes.
